While still studying for his degree in Civil Engineering at Columbia University, studying for his degree in Civil Engineering, Azmi founded telecom company T-One, developed it, and then sold it to an American publicly traded company. In 1999, he assumed the role of CEO at Investcom. His leadership and expertise carried the company, from a $30 million to $1 billion turnover in just seven years, with a listing on the London and Dubai stockexchanges.
As the youngest CEO of a Middle Eastern publicly traded company, he uncovered and envisioned opportunities in various business sectors, thus building the foundations of M1 Group into the large, global investment holding it is today. Azmi is currently a Non-Executive Director at MTN South Africa,. He is also a member of the International College Board of Trustees in Lebanon.
